CRIMINAL PETITION - JUVENILE OFFENDERS
Police, citizens, parents, or families, merchants, and government agencies can file complaints against juveniles through Juvenile Intake. An Intake Officer determines probable cause. They decide to either send the case to court or diversion. Both delinquent (criminal) and CHINS-Child in Need of Services/Supervision (non-criminal, "status") offenses receive intake services.
